Playlists

I'm one of those writers who can only get so much of a story without music. I'll write between 10-30 pages before the hunt begins for the song that will act as the filter for what aspect of the story I will tell. Sometimes the song(s) match the vibe of my muse. Other times they are the yin to my muse's yang. Rhea, for example, had me listen to a lot of teeny bopper stuff (see "More to Life") to remind me to keep the book light. Her light music choices counterbalanced her natural heaviness and intensity.

Her BFF Kay, however, is a bit more literal. The music she chose matches the vibe she wants for her story. Most muses choose this route in my little writing world.

Kay'sVille (Book 4):

Ave Mary A, Pink
Don't Let Me Stop You, Kelly Clarkson (thanks, Kayla)
Halo, Beyonce
When Love Takes Over, Kelly Rowland
Just a Dream, Nelly

Powerless, Nelly Fertado

21 Things,  Alanis Morrissette
Precious Illusions, Alanis Morrissette
